Rick Ayling                     Rock Island Band
This all started in a backyard party in the summer of 1997. Please
understand that this all began with no more intentions than passing some time for the evening. We (Rick Ayling and Tommy Keith) were only doing what came natural to us which is goofing off. Songs were attempted and songs were trashed but we completed the evening without any death, Tommy Keith
maiming or dismemberments. We returned to the same party a year later with Rob Ayling( Rick's brother) , a drummer, with just the hopes of not being kicked out of the party. Entering the party with no expectations of performing outside of this one small gathering. Our music caught the interest of several party goers and we were invited to play at two more parties. Those two parties led to two more parties.
Rob Ayling Now the need for more practices and more songs grew. As the
practices grew more and more demanding, so also did the need to add a bass
guitarist. In February of 1999 we were elated to add Peter Ameen to the band. In March of 1999 Randy Edmonson joined us with the rhythm guitar. Several backyard parties, a benefit for Muscular Dystrophy, another year at the same backyard where we crawled out of the lyrical mist and here we are 5Peter Ameen strong and ready to rock. We thought it only fitting to start a web site to keep everyone posted on current events. We have enjoyed sharing our versions of Classic Rock and Top 40 music with our Randy Edmonson. crowds and there  will be more to come. Just remember when we perform to bring your dancing shoes and a great attitude. We will leave you wanting more.
